Quality Control Inspector (Machine
Shop)

Hands-on machine shop, assembly, and finished product
quality control inspections in a small company
environment. Expanded duties including:
First, last, and random part inspection of small, high
precision, aluminum components used in the microscopy
industry; Inspection of mechanical assemblies with
moving parts for proper tension and consistency of
movement, proper operation, cosmetic appearance, and
accuracy; Inspection for completeness based on CAD
drawings; Assurance of shop-wide procedures and form
completion; Hands-on examination of incoming/outgoing
inventory and subcontracted manufacturing for quantity
and quality; Assure that orders are correctly filled and
packaged on a timely basis; Some inventory monitoring
and planning; Some packaging and shipping.
Requirements for this position:
Reliable, meticulous, organized, detail-oriented,
proactive, and teamwork-oriented individual
High school graduate or equivalent and 2 to 5 years
relevant experience
SOME BASIC EXPERIENCE AS A METAL MACHINIST REQUIRED
Must be able to read and understand mechanical CAD
drawings and schematics
Skilled use of measuring tools including calipers,
micrometers, indicators, gages, comparators, etc.
Knowledge of basic mathematical measurements
Must be able to multi task
Good written and oral communication skills
Must speak English
Experience with a computerized and/or inventory
management system a plus
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word a plus
Small Components
Machinist *

Detail-oriented, meticulous, reliable, and motivated
individual to machine high precision and fragile
punch/probe needles utilizing a centerless grinder,
microscopes, various custom machines and various hand
tools. The machining process is delicate and
requires exacting attention to detail, finesse, very
stable hands and excellent eyesight and depth perception
within 3 feet. This individual is also
required to perform various other machining and assembly
tasks as needed.
Requirements for this position:
High school graduate or equivalent
Stable and controlled hand movements (no tremors)
Excellent eyesight and depth
perception
Delicate touch (needles are very
fragile)
Perfectionist
Able to work with microscope
Working around machine oil (smocks
are provided)
Ability to sit for long periods of
time
Must speak English
Experience working with centerless grinders and/or
microscopes a plus
Experience as a precision machinist preferred
